1979-1982 - Centre Océanologique de Bretagne (Brest, France): Synthesis of the research conducted on the Gulf of Guinea.
1982-1998 - Centre ORSTOM de Nouméa (New Caledonia): Research on planktonic productivity of coral environments (Noumea, Uvea island and Tuamotu atolls) and on the effect of climatic variability on open ocean planktonic productivity. Studies related to the ocean carbon cycle in the equatorial Pacific (JGOFS international programme).
